MICHAEL N. MABERRY President
Michael N. Maberry is President of Hanover Property Company and is responsible for its operations other than land acquisition which is handled by Dick LeBlanc. Prior to joining Hanover, he practiced real estate and banking law with the Dallas law firm of McGuire, Craddock & Strother. Before joining McGuire, Craddock, Mike was a partner of Hat Creek Partners, L.P., a Dallas-based venture capital firm where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, funding and monitoring venture capital investments. Prior to that, Mike was President of AMRESCO Capital Corporation, a subsidiary of AMRESCO, Inc., which he established in early 1994 to originate and accumulate commercial mortgage loans secured by income producing property and to distribute such mortgages through securitization and whole loan sales to institutional investors.
From April 1989 to April 1994, Mike was a shareholder and director of the Dallas law firm of Winstead, Sechrest & Minick. During that tenure, he established and led the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. His law practice followed a fourteen year career as Executive Vice President in charge of real estate lending for MBank Dallas, and later its statewide holding company, where he took leadership roles in real estate and banking operations during periods of expansion, maintenance and retrenchment. In the late 1980’s he was tapped to form and lead MCorp’s workout subsidiary, which acquired, enhanced and sold all foreclosed real estate and non-performing real estate loans for the bank holding company. Mike spent his early career in a “Big Eight” accounting firm, on the corporate finance staff of two investment banks and as chief financial officer of a real estate investment firm. He received his under graduate and law degrees from Southern Methodist University (B.A. 1965; J.D. 1967).
